New Developments

What is the status of my art and art movies? This is the place to keep abreast.
my blog

www.writingup.com/tantra/ is my blog, and it would be lovely to have you visit. it is highly researched material that deconstructs the usual perceptions of our society, history, and capabilities. Later: i have pretty much abandoned writing new material in this blog. have moved on....

Grand Exhibition in Spain

http://www.artpointsonline.com/Bart.html shows some pictures of this fantastic venue. they really know how to pick surreal places for my art. check it out!

This is the letter I got from Spain about my show that opened on the 4th of Nov.

TONIGHT we are going to have a vernissage of your works in the fabulous little bar-T in the caves of Rojales. The programme includes: Jazz concert Agua de Valencia (cocktail) Speech about the war etc. by a Amable Soriano, Poet and philosophy teacher (REALLY hair-raising excellent very strong stuff! I'm sure you will love it) Projection of your digital art in an annex room to the bar We have sent notice to a lot of press and we are sure we will be covered at least by a few. I will do my best and try to get as much of the articles as I possibly can. Of course you also got your article in the Sismógrafo. In all cases we used (part of) your texts about the war etc and I'm really happy with what we've done. I hope you too are. We also made beautifull small posters with your text in 2 languages an some invitations to distribute around the area. I attach a copy (in word format). There you will see the (slightly shortened) text we've used, so you can see what we've made of the texts and other bits and pieces you sent us. Please check it out and if there's anything you don't like, let me know, as I was thinking of uploading that same text into your catalogue page, to go with the artworks. I will try and make as much pictures as I can so that you get a taste of the big party it's going to be tonight. Give me a few days to upload everything to the web. But you can already find a bit about the caves and the bar in our site, under the Sala mengolero link, although this time the exhibition is not in the Sala mengolero but in the Bar-T itself.

I'm CENSORED!

The images of me on the cross, in collaboration with Steve Jacobson, are making a bit of a splash at the moment. In www.mannequinenvy.com, the art critic Alex Nodopanka writes a review of my work as an photographic artist, including my self portraits. One of these is one the magazine chose to represent those. Meanwhile, in Vallejo, California, one of that set, which is on the cover of my Stigmata movie, with reptilian wings, bound to the cross with rope, yelling, was on the poster with other images representing the artists, as it was supposed to be part of the show. However, many people were refusing to put up the posters, and a new version was made with my breasts covered by a CENSORED mark, to allow it to be shown in more places. By the time of the show, however, it was not to be seen on the walls. It was however, in the current Artist's Guild Show. Congratulations to Steve!

Photography Magazine

I now have fun photos in the current issue of FStop. www.fstopmagazine.com. I also have art in other current issues of magazines, such as the cover of www.madhattersreview.com, and the current print issues of Altar Magazine and NFG Magazine. Many others coming up, so check back.

July 28, two places to find my work exhibited

July 28th, I will be at two locations if I can, as my movie Irving Reveal will be part of the opening for the art show about San Francisco, at the Canvas Gallery, Lincoln and 9th Avenue, Sunset District. I will also have pieces in the Portfolio Show that same evening.

I am art editor of a multimedia magazine.

After being asked for some illustrations for www.madhattersreview.com, and having a poem accepted there, I was then asked to be the new art editor. This led to a little physical breakdown at the deadline of issue two, but the magazine is getting rave reviews. It is the magazine of the season at www.laurahird.com. Each literary submission that is accepted then is accompanied by custom made music and art. I am in charge of finding the artists and gettting them to do the pieces, for one thing. It has become my own work, this collaboration to bring new full experiences to the readers, and inspire the artists to make new works.

If you are an artist and would like to illustrate this magazine, and feel you share its vision, contact me with samples of your work or a website.>
